Brooke is a born lover-of-stories. She has spent her life writing them, reading them, watching them, studying them, and acting them out.
She holds a BA in English Literature from Tulane University in New Orleans, as well as an MA from the University of Cincinnati. Her varied career includes television work and modeling in Japan as a preteen, jobs in film and video production, in publishing, as an adjunct professor, and even a stint in the character department at Walt Disney World. In more recent years, Brooke has enjoyed being a children’s ministry leader, a blogger and a homeschool teacher.
Brooke has many passions, including musical theatre, travel, and most importantly, her three children–passions she was privileged to merge this past summer when she directed the world premiere of her son’s new musical, Acceptance Pending, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Currently, she is finishing the final edits on her first young adult novel, Dalrymple, and doing pre-work for her next novel which will depict life on an army base in Japan in the mid-1980s.
